Taster Session: Special Effects Make-Up For Stage & Screen with Franky Lehmeier

Create SFX make-up looks, using direct-applied SFX make-up techniques, including cuts, bruises, burns, ageing, and dirt effects.
This event is part of Youth Arts Festival, a week-long series of free events running for 13-25 year olds across Hammersmith and Fulham. You must be aged 13-25 and live or learn in Hammersmith & Fulham to attend.
Create SFX make-up looks, using direct-applied SFX make-up techniques, including cuts, bruises, burns, ageing, and dirt effects.
By the end of this session, learners will be able to:
- Prepare skin safely for SFX make-up application.
- Create realistic wounds, bruises, and injury effects.
- Use SFX products and tools safely and effectively.
- Evaluate and refine finished effects for screen or stage.
Franky has been teaching at the University of the Arts London for over ten years for the BA (HON) Hair, Make-up, and Prosthetics for Performance course as well as on The Complete Special Effects Makeup for Film and TV Short Course. Despite Franky's passion for Prosthetics, Franky also has a passion for teaching, and throughout her time at UAL she has done a "Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching" as well as an "MA in Teaching and learning in Art, Design, and Communication for teaching in Higher Education." During her time in Education, Franky has been awarded 2 Teaching awards, she was nominated for these awards by her students.
