Sculpture Workshop with Oli Smart

You will discover, uncover and explore the humorous, captivating and playful side of the things which we throw away. In this very hands on workshop we will twist, tie, form, sew and glue rubbish into arty puppets you can perform or characterful art which you can wear.

This event is part of Youth Arts Festival, a week-long series of free events running for 13-25 year olds across Hammersmith and Fulham. You must be aged 13-25 and live or learn in Hammersmith & Fulham to attend.

You will discover, uncover and explore the humorous, captivating and playful side of the things which we throw away. In this very hands on workshop we will twist, tie, form, sew and glue rubbish into arty puppets you can perform or characterful art which you can wear.

As a puppeteer/theatre practitioner Oli Smart has worked with brilliant companies such as; Channel 4, The National Theatre, Nickelodeon, ITV, Sony Entertainment Europe and Disney. He has an award winning artist practice (RA Summer Exhibition Jack Goldhill Award for Sculpture 2022) and has collaborated on projects with incredible artists including Ingrid Pollard (Shortlisted for the Turner Prize 2022).

He is a visiting lecturer at Kingston School of Art, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, The London College of Fashion, Rose Bruford College of Performing Arts, amongst others.
