Explore the festival like a journalist! In this five-session programme, you’ll discover how to find stories, interview artists, write, take photographs, and collaborate to produce a magazine. Working as a team, you’ll report on the festival and share stories about the people, performances and creative work that inspire you.

This event is part of Youth Arts Festival, a week-long series of free events running for 13-25 year olds across Hammersmith and Fulham. You must be aged 13-25 and live or learn in Hammersmith & Fulham to attend.

Participants should be able to attend all five days. If you are not available for one session please email us to discuss.

Najlaa Aboumerhi is an experienced journalist, presenter, and writer, with experience across print, radio, online and television. She has worked for different outlets, including BBC Arabic and Alaraby TV.

She has reported from major international events, produced documentaries and programmes, and worked across the full editorial process, from researching and developing stories to interviewing, writing, presenting, and editing.

Najlaa has also worked with international organisations to empower journalists and deliver training in in-depth reporting. As a mentor to aspiring journalists, she brings a practical, supportive approach to helping young people develop their ideas, storytelling skills and confidence. Her own journey into journalism began as a young student, making her experience particularly relatable to emerging journalists.
