Create a short film on your smartphone! Did you know that you can make high-quality films without professional cameras and equipment? In this workshop, you will learn techniques for using your phone to create short professional looking films for publishing online or for film festival submissions.

This event is part of Youth Arts Festival, a week-long series of free events running for 13-25 year olds across Hammersmith and Fulham. You must be aged 13-25 and live or learn in Hammersmith & Fulham to attend.

Did you know that you can make high-quality films without professional cameras and equipment? In this workshop, you will learn techniques for using your phone to create short professional looking films for publishing online or for film festival submissions.

David Kline is a produced feature film screenwriter and award winning short filmmaker. He co-wrote the feature film 'Housejackers (2025) produced by Northern Ireland Screen. His career in film started with supporting actor and writer Laurence Fishburne with a screen adaptation of Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist for Warner Brothers which was optioned. David later worked as script reader for several UK film agencies including Scottish Screen and Northern Ireland Screen. David has written and produced many short films, including, 'Game Over,' a co-write with Director Adam Jenkins. The film won the Film and Media Insurance short film competition 2019 and won the horror / suspense category at the Ealing Film Festival 2020. It received official selections for the LA Shorts International Film Festival 2018 and London Short Film Festival 2019. David also wrote, produced and directed, 'On the edge,' which won Best Drama (Diamond award) at the European Independent Film Awards summer 2018 and 'Two for One,' winner of the Imaginary Mind film contest 2023. 

He leads a course on how to create short films on smartphones for City Lit.
