Accessible Poetry Workshop with Write London

When: 28 October 2026, 2:30pm – 4:00pm
Where: Lyric Hammersmith Theatre

In this accessible workshop, we will explore different ways to write and think about poetry through simple exercises, prompts and creative games. We will experiment with words, rhythm, imagery and performance, and will discuss careers and working as a writer.

This event is part of Youth Arts Festival, a week-long series of free events running for 13-25 year olds across Hammersmith and Fulham. You must be aged 13-25 and live or learn in Hammersmith & Fulham to attend.

Tom Mallender is a poet, writer and creative facilitator whose work often explores archive material and lived experience.

He founded Write-London in 2014 and Naino joined the team in 2019. Since then, Write-London has worked with thousands of participants aged 4 to 107, encouraging creativity through poetry, storytelling and performance.

Tom’s work is rooted in helping people find confidence in their voice and making creativity feel open to everyone. His route into writing was far from straightforward, and that continues to shape the way he teaches, writes and works with others. He lives, writes and is always creating things in Fulham.
